What We’re Shopping for this Fall

Jillian here! Inspiration for fall is tumbling out of me every which way so I thought I’d take a moment to share what we’re shopping for this fall over at Tablewith and at my house. Every year, the famous Fitzgerald quote rings true, “Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” I couldn’t agree more. There’s something magical about fall - the air gets brisker, the days’ light a little warmer, and life feels like it slows just enough to let us gather around the table again. After a season of summer travels and busy schedules, fall is the perfect moment to reconnect face-to-face with friends. I’m biased but I recommend doing so at a cozy TableWith cookbook club dinner party or gathering!

When it comes to setting a fall table, I’m shopping for all things warm, inviting, and glowy. Think amber glassware that catches candlelight, linen napkins in rich harvest hues, and serving pieces that add depth and texture to your tablescape. Layer in a few seasonal touches, like a bowl of fresh figs or a simple arrangement of autumn branches, and you have a fuss-free table that sets the stage for easy, happy gatherings. Also, I can never resist the addition of cozy candles this time of year as they instantly transform my home into a space that feels intimate and welcoming. They make for the easiest hostess gift as well (my two favorites towards the bottom of this post!).

We have updated our shop with lots of ideas for setting a beautiful fall table as well as our ShopMy with a sneak peak right here:

Stay tuned for the announcement of our fall Tablebook cookbook author partner! In October and November, we have two very different voices, each bringing unique perspectives and recipes you’ll want to cook all season long. While I have you, have you downloaded the TableWith app yet? Download now, ahead of the new season, and get a cookbook club going with your nearest and dearest or even with new friends. We do all the logistical planning for you and give you access to recipes from our author’s cookbooks - what could be better? We make it easy because what truly matters is who you are at the table with. Goodbye summer… time for the cozy season!

A mood board for cozy fall dinner parties

In my mind, fall really represents gathering with loved ones (believe it or not, Thanksgiving isn’t too far off!) and making everything feel extra cozy and inviting. Here’s a few ways I’m making my house feel like a home this fall:

I’m always burning one of my two most favorite fall candles: this pumpkin, thyme, and warm spices candle or this cider, nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove candle. I alternate between them both depending on if I’m craving more of a pumpkin or cider scent.

When it comes to fall recipes, two new ones I’m excited to try are this Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese With Crispy Mushrooms and this White Chicken Chili. Both are so different but look like they hit the nail on the head in terms of comfort food.

I create fall fun in the kitchen with my three boys by doing one of our favorite activities to do together, baking! If we don’t have time for a big recipe, we love to make this quick spiced pumpkin bread mix in this fall loaf pan (we have an older design of the fall loaf pan but, 10 years in and it still works like a charm). My boys also never tire of making waffles with this mini pumpkin waffle maker (best $10 I ever spent!) in the mornings. I love this organic waffle mix. It makes for smiles all around!

I love to bake treats as a hostess gift in the fall so I use these darling window bakery boxes or these treat bags to wrap up my goodies. Use this gingham ribbon and these autumn chintz gift tags to make the gift extra thoughtful.

I hope this post helped you get in the mood for the upcoming season! I’ll see you in the kitchen and around the table. x Jillian

P.S. To my fall TableWith club gatherings, I’ve got my eye on wearing this great striped button-down with these wide-leg jeans or these three dresses: stripes, printed, or gingham. Both options will go beautifully with these flats and this cardigan. Cheers!
